The SFU Donation Challenge: Final Results

The SFU Donation Challenge is very pleased to announce the final results of our clothing donation drive at SFU.

Over the last two weeks, we have collected the following number of items:

- 86 miscellaneous (hats, scarves, gloves, etc...)
- 25 bags/purses/backpacks
- 19 pairs of shoes
- 509 clothing items!!!

These results are extremely good! The SFU community really rose to the challenge we put forth and made a huge difference for the youth of Covenant House. Our main point of contact at Covenant House was really impressed with the number of donations and the generosity of SFU. For those of you who donated, thank you!

Just as important as the number of donations, we believe that this event has helped increase awareness about the struggles of at-risk youth in BC and the great work that Covenant House is doing to address these issues. This blog has gotten almost 600 views at the time of writing this and The SFU Donation Challenge was featured on many official SFU Twitter and Facebook pages. We hope that people have been getting the message and will consider donating to Covenant House BC in the future.

We would like to thank Covenant House BC, and specifically our contact Mark Savard, for working with us over the Summer. We would also like to thank our sponsors: Club Ilia, Nature's Garden, Nester's Market, Azzi's Hair Studio, and the SFU Bookstore. Finally, we would like to thank everyone who donated or helped spread the word about the SFU Donation Challenge. You have helped make a real difference in the lives of many people with your generosity.
